Alexander Cachine is a PhD student with the Georgia Tech School of Physics. Entering his fourth year with the Matsumoto Group (after 2 years as an undergraduate researcher and an additional year in a postbac position), Alexander now functions as a lab manager and lead experimentalist for the Matsumoto Group. He is involved in projects investigating the geometry and topology of soft materials. Co-author of several papers, Alexander's work helps to provide an experimental foundation for simulations of the elastic and structural properties of mechanical meta-matter and other programmable materials.
