The First Public Night of the 2026-2027 School Year Will Be
Thursday, September 24 at 8:30-10:30PM.
We will be viewing the Moon and Albireo.
On select Thursday evenings during the academic year, anyone can come to Seven Bridges and the Howey-Mason courtyard in front of the School of Physics to observe various bright celestial objects such as the Moon, planets, nebulae, and star clusters. Overseen by the Georgia Tech School of Physics Observatory Director, volunteers, notably including current and former students from the Georgia Tech Astronomy Club (GTAC), set up the telescopes and are available to answer questions. These highly inclusive and free observing events usually draw more than 100 people from the Georgia Tech community and the general public.
